In February, the MMBA will be moving to a new server/website. Rather than just moving everything to a new server, this will be a rebuild from the ground up. In the meantime, we will be using a new site for the metrosouth chapter.

Okay, so we (meaning I) haven’t been the best at keeping our dedicated site updated. That will hopefully be changing in the near future.
In the meantime, we’ve had several meeting, the minutes of which will be posted soon.
We had our election process which resulted in all members staying on for another year.
Now, we’re going stir crazy and getting ready for the expo this weekend.
Visit MMBA Annual Expo for more info about the expo.
We’ll be near the entrance and next door to Trails-Edge. We will have hummus and pita, they’ll have espresso. Stop by for a snack or just to hang out and talk.
As always, for more info about volunteer opportunities in the chapter, you can email metrosouth@mmba.org.
Are now available in the library.
Chapter Meeting 2/22/07 - Ground Round Livonia
0 Comments Published by Metro South February 8th, 2007 in NewsSorry for such late notice but life has been busy lately. We will be having our first Metro South quarterly meeting on Thursday, Feb 22nd @ 6:30 @ the Ground Round in Livonia http://www.livoniagroundround.com/. Please arrive around 6 to order food if you like and we will start promptly at 6:30. In this first meeting we will try to set some more trail days for trails that have not done so. Plus general discussion of how and what we need to focus on to make the Metro South Chapter shine. Looking forward to seeing you all. Come out and see some old friends and make some new ones.
-Joe Foy
Meeting minutes have been posted in the library
MetroNorth/MetroSouth Chapter(s) Meeting is Thursday 01/18/2007 @ 6:30PM
This is the FIRST meeting of 2007!
Meeting will be held at Jimi’s Resturant in Royal Oak again. For those who haven’t been there yet, the address is 714 South Washington, Royal Oak.
We hope to be posting an agenda soon, but this meeting will be a bit different then normal.
Since it’s winter, and the trail activity is pretty lean currently, so I figure that we will cover any items/issues that need to be covered, and move forward with the elections.
Since with the transition of people between chapters, we are not going to have the pre-nomination process as we have in past years. I’m hoping that when it comes time for elections, we will split up into two groups for the two chapters, and then each chapter will hold their nominations and elections. From this point onward, the chapters will have separate meetings and elections.
Please, come out and support your chapter during the transition, and help the new chapters get off to a good start for 2007.
Any questions, email either METROSOUTH@MMBA.ORG or METRONORTH@MMBA.ORG.
1. Approval of Minutes from previous meeting
2. General updates on trails and activities
3. Financial report
4. New MMBA chapters: Metro North and South Elections
a. Nominations
b. Elections
Attention Please. May We Have Your Attention Please. We have an Announcement…
Southeast Chapter and Pontiac Lake Chapter are pleased to announce the realignment of our combined trails. We plan to join the Southeast Chapter with the Pontiac Lake Chapter then split the trails for a more equitable distribution. This will benefit both chapters because, as it turns out, SE is too big to manage and PLRA is too small to have it’s very own chapter.
How will this work? Here’s the plan:
If the plan is approved, we will split the trails geographically between the North Metro area and the South Metro area. Both chapters will be renamed and new elections will take place once the dust settles. This will give members in each area time to decide which chapter they want to belong to. The board will make the final decision how the split will go and will decide the final renaming of each chapter. The names we like are “Metro South” and “Metro North”. We welcome additional descriptive suggestions.
Here is the split:
Metro South: Milford, Hickory Glen, Island Lake, Maybury, Lake
Shore, Proud Lake, River Rouge Park and Munson Park.
Metro North: Pontiac, Highland, Stony, Addison, Orion Oaks, Bald
Mountain and Bloomer.
We want your input. We scheduled a joint chapter meeting where you you will have the opportunity to learn about this process and we will have the opportunity to address any questions you may have.
Please join us at:
Jimi’s, 714 South Washington, Royal Oak
November 16th, 2006 at 6:30 pm
We will hold separate elections at a place and time to be determined by each chapter after the initial joint meeting.
Thank you for your time and we hope you will participate in this process.
Nick Shue, President, Southeast Chapter, MMBA
Jody Delavern, President, Pontiac Lake Chapter, MMBA

| Okay Dave, Jean, Myself, and the Maybury staff have done some prep work for the last workday of the season at Maybury. This is also one of the things we want to accomplish for the winter riding season. This a fairly major task to achieve yet, so we’ll need your help.
We are planning to armor that hill and add some water shed features on other section of that downhill. This is going to be some hardy work and our goal for this is to NOT CHANGE that favorite old downhill. Date: Saturday November 11th |
